Xiamen Baodafor New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. recently announced the launch of a new degradable food cling wrap series. Made from bio-based materials, this product can be completely degraded in the natural environment, marking a significant breakthrough for the company in the field of green food packaging.
This new cling wrap uses plant starch as its main raw material, processed through a special manufacturing technique. While maintaining the excellent preservation performance of traditional cling wrap, the product can degrade into water and carbon dioxide in soil within 90 days, truly achieving a green closed-loop from source to end.
Verified by third-party testing institutions, the key indicators of this product—including tensile strength, elongation at break, and moisture vapor transmission rate—all meet national food-grade packaging standards. Performance remains stable and reliable under common usage scenarios such as refrigeration, freezing, and microwave heating.
"Sustainable development is the major trend in the food packaging industry," said Baodafor's R&D director. "We invested three years in developing this product, hoping to provide more environmentally friendly options for our customers and consumers."
The product series is available in multiple specifications, including household roll packaging and commercial bulk packaging, to meet different usage scenarios. Small batch orders are now available for domestic and international customers.
