Baodafor New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. has recently launched a cell-based production reform project at its Xiamen manufacturing base, marking a crucial step in building flexible manufacturing capabilities.
Cell-based production is a manufacturing model that integrates related equipment and processes into independent production units. Compared with traditional assembly lines, this approach significantly reduces material handling distance, shortens production cycles, and enhances workers' mastery of multiple processes.
The reform focuses on food packaging film and bag production workshops. By optimizing equipment layout and process connections, several independent production cells have been established. Each cell is staffed with 2-3 multi-skilled workers capable of completing the entire process from raw material input to finished product inspection.
"After implementing cell-based production, we observed that work-in-progress inventory decreased by approximately 35%, and our on-time delivery rate improved significantly," a Baodafor production manager stated. "More importantly, workers have expanded their skill sets, and team collaboration has become much stronger."
This reform is part of Baodafor's continuous advancement of lean management. The company stated it will complete the full reform plan within the next few months and continue optimizing cell configurations based on operational data to further improve production efficiency and flexible response capabilities.
